Plaxico Burress Injury: Update on Jets Star's Week 4 Status and Fantasy Value
The New York Jets are a team scrambling for answers at this point. They are coming off a loss to the Oakland Raiders, which brought up many of the questions that had been asked about the Jets last season and coming into this season.
Not helping matters is the fact that they are a little banged-up already. Offensive lineman Nick Mangold is dealing with an ankle injury, cornerback Antonio Cromartie is playing with a rib injury, defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson is battling a shoulder injury and Plaxico Burress has a tight hamstring.
The Burress injury has to be of particular concern. Hamstring problems have a way of lingering, and there's really no telling how long it will last.

Update: Sunday, Oct 2 at 12:30 p.m. EDT
Plaxico participated fully in practice earlier this week and should be a go for today.
Injury Update
Burress' status for this weekend's game is still uncertain, and he has been limited in practice because of the injury.
This close to Sunday, you'd like to have him be a full participant in practice, but he isn't ready for that.
When's He Ready to Return?
Burress will be active for the Jets as soon as his hamstring will allow. As I mentioned, there is very little timeline on these types of tweaks.
More than likely, his status for the game this weekend will come down to how he feels when he goes out to test the hamstring on the day of the game.
Fantasy Impact
Burress is a bit of a sketchy fantasy option, even when healthy. The Jets' passing offense is inconsistent and he is clearly behind Santonio Holmes on the depth chart.
If he isn't already owned in your league, take an extended look at getting Derrick Mason on your roster. As long as Burress is out or hampered, he will get more looks on the offensive end.
What They're Saying
Jenny Vrentas, the Jets beat writer for the Newark Star-Ledger, recently updated his progress via Twitter:
"Mangold (ankle) DNP. Wilkerson (shoulder), Burress (tight hamstring) were limited. Cromartie (ribs) full, Rex said he had 3 INTs today."
