NFL Picks Week 4: Philadelphia Eagles and 4 Teams Ready to Be Upset
The Philadelphia Eagles are making a horrible mistake by even considering putting Michael Vick on the field this week against the San Francisco 49ers.
He's been injured and knocked out of the game two weeks in a row now, and I see nothing that has changed that would suggest the result in this game will be any different.
The Eagles are putting themselves in prime position for an upset at home, but they aren't the only team that seems to be heading towards disaster.
Here's a list of the Eagles and four teams that seems to be on their way to an upset in Week 4.
Is your team on this list?
4. Minnesota Vikings
1 of 4There is no way that the 0-3 Chiefs could ever win a game, right?
Well, the chances of going 0-16 aren't impossible, but they are highly unlikely.
If there ever was a game for the Chiefs to win it would be against the faltering Vikings. Donovan McNabb looks like a shell of the player he once was—not in Philadelphia, but in Washington, which says a lot.
Their play-calling has been horrible, and their second-half play even worse. I think the Chiefs will capitalize on their home-field advantage and somehow pull off the win.
3. New York Giants
2 of 4The Giants aren't as good as they played against a banged up Eagles team.
Eli Manning is a good quarterback, but he is incredibly inconsistent. It's simple: If Michael Vick wasn't knocked out of the game, they probably would have lost.
They have to travel to the desert to play a reeling Arizona team that is desperate for a win. The Cardinals have the offensive firepower to dismantle a still-hurting Giants defense.
I think that is exactly what we will see happen.
2. Atlanta Falcons
3 of 4There is something very wrong with the Falcons. They have had moments where they seemed like one of the best teams in the league, and then others where they don't even look like a playoff team.
Whatever it is, it's going to be a very hard fix going up against a young and well-coached Seattle Seahawks team.
Seattle is arguably one of the hardest places to go into as a road team, and the Seahawks always feed off the momentum of the crowd.
Everything is going in favor of the Seahawks right now, and against the Falcons.
1. Philadelphia Eagles
4 of 4The Eagles are in a very bad position. Their backup situation is pretty abysmal, so if they don't play Vick, chances are they will be in for a beating against a solid 49ers defense.
If they do play Vick, he is susceptible to get hurt yet again, and his effectiveness will surely be stunted by a "bruised," non-throwing hand.
Either way, the Eagles are facing a tough game, and it's one I think they will drop.
