Minnesota Vikings vs. Kansas City Chiefs: Last Minute Spread Info and Prediction
The Minnesota Vikings head into Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, and someone is going to pick up their first win of the season.
After winning the AFC West last season, the Chiefs took a giant step backwards this season and were blown out in their first two games. They put up a fight against division rival San Diego, but were unable to overcome them without Pro Bowl RB Jamaal Charles or their stud second-year safety, Eric Berry.
Minnesota has blown three double-digit leads this season and could legitimately be 3-0 if they had better play calling and execution in the second half of games.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
For some reason, they refuse to pound the rock with Adrian Peterson with a big lead and the team has suffered because of it. I think they learn the error of their ways in this game and if they go up, look for them to protect that lead.
Keep reading on to find out more about this exciting game on Sunday.
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Mo.
When: 1 p.m. ET, Oct. 2, 2011
Watch: FOX
Over/Under: 39.5
Over. Both of these teams have gone over in two of their matchups and under once.
While the Vikings don’t throw for a lot of yards, the Chiefs are going to give them up to this team.
I foresee this game being relatively high scoring and it should certainly go above 40 points total between the two.
Spread: Minnesota Vikings -2
Love the Vikings -2 here. The Chiefs just aren’t the same without Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones, his backup, is probably washed up.
I just don’t foresee anyway the Chiefs win this game and I don’t usually bet an underdog I don’t think can win outright unless it is a gigantic spread.
Lay the points on the road with Minnesota and cash your winning ticket on Sunday.
Key Injuries
WR Percy Harvin – PRB (illness) – Harvin went out after taking a shot to the stomach against the Lions and was throwing up on the sidelines. He missed the end of the fourth and overtime. He should be fine to go against the Chiefs.
LB E.J. Henderson – PRB (knee) – Henderson missed practice with a sore knee on Wednesday, but should be fine to go this week.
CB Brandon Flowers – QST (ankle) – The Chiefs' star corner participated in media practice on Wednesday and says he should be good to go barring any setbacks.
WR Jonathan Baldwin – DBT (thumb) – The rookie was limited all week in practice last week and was ruled out and is doing the same this week. I wouldn’t trust him to play.
Fantasy Big Plays
Adrian Peterson – You would be crazy not to start him. He’s been having monster games despite the Vikings reluctance to give him the ball in the second half. I expect him to be getting touches all game long and have one of his best performances of the season.
Michael Jenkins – He has the second most targets on the team behind Percy Harvin by a single throw. He also has the most catches on the team, most yards, tied for the most touchdowns and most first downs.
If you think the Vikings will throw the ball a lot this game, Jenkins is a great fantasy play.
Dexter McCluster – This kid is the X-factor for the Chiefs. He returns kicks and is helping Thomas Jones in the backfield now that Charles is on the IR.
He can explode at any given moment and is simply a playmaker from anywhere on the field. He’s a risky start, but could be very, very rewarding.
Keys to a Minnesota Win
Pound the rock.
They need to keep doing what they have been doing to get a big lead in the first half and then they need to POUND THE ROCK with AP to hold that thing.
If they could have figured that out Week 1, we’d be talking about a 3-0 Vikings team instead of an 0-3 club.
Keys to a Kansas City Win
Find an identity.
The team has been absolutely lost without Charles and didn’t even look good when he was with them.
Cassel needs to rally the troops and get them to play behind him. They look god awful on offense and it’s dragging the whole team out.
Prediction
Vikings 32, Chiefs 9
