Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Wire: Why Owners Must Add 49ers RB Kendall Hunter

49ers RB Kendall Hunter a Potential Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickup

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said running back Frank Gore would likely play on Sunday but called it "an educated guess," according to Matthew Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.

Barrows also had this to say:

"Even if Gore plays against the Eagles on Sunday, he's likely to share carries with Hunter and perhaps second-year player Anthony Dixon."

The tidbit about Kendall Hunter is encouraging news for the rookie running back, and he might be someone you take a look at adding on the waiver wire this week.

The 49ers figure to keep the ball on the ground extensively against an Eagles defense that ranks 30th against the run through three games. That unit has given up 394 rushing yards, or 131.3 a game.

If Gore's ankle isn't looking right early in the game, or Hunter has some success on his first couple of touches, the 49ers might be forced to give the rookie the majority of the carries. There's no reason to think Hunter can't go over 100 yards and a score against the Eagles if he sees the ball 20 or more times.

Other waiver wire adds for Week 4:

Bernard Scott, Bengals: No decision has been made yet, but Cedric Benson is still facing a suspension. If he's banned, Scott will get three weeks to prove he is fantasy relevant.

Nate Washington, Titans: He's already been productive (21 catches, 258 yards), and now he's the Titans No. 1 receiver after Kenny Britt was lost for the season.

Denarius Moore, Raiders: While he's been on this list for two straight weeks, there's no reason to take him off. Moore is the Raiders go-to guy on offense after Darren McFadden

Torrey Smith, Ravens: His three-touchdown first quarter makes him an obvious pick, but it will give him increased opportunities moving forward in the Ravens suddenly-vertical offense.
