Fantasy Football Week 4 Projections: Will Torrey Smith Have Another Big Game?
Baltimore Ravens receiver Torrey Smith had a monster game in Week 3. The rookie out of Maryland grabbed five passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns in the Ravens' 37-7 win over the St. Louis Rams. Those five catches were the first of Smith's career, and it may have been a star-making appearance.
With starting receiver Lee Evans likely out for Week 4 with an ankle injury, Smith will likely start opposite Anquan Boldin on Sunday against the New York Jets. That means Smith will go from a matchup against Rams third corner Justin King to staring down Antonio Cromartie and Darrelle Revis. That's quite a big change.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
If you're expecting Smith to have another huge game this week, you're fooling yourself. The Jets will clearly be aiming to stop him and make sure he doesn't beat them deep like he did the Rams. Smith's strengths are his speed and his ability as a deep-threat, and the Jets are too smart to allow themselves to get beat the way St. Louis did.
We will actually learn a lot about Smith this week with how he handles himself in such a difficult matchup. It's easy to jump up and surprise people when you're the third receiver and facing a weak secondary. This week will be much different. We'll also learn how much Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco trusts his young playmaker by how many times he targets him against two Pro Bowl-caliber cornerbacks.
Smith certainly showed he has big-play ability in Week 3. He will always be a threat to make something happen, but we just don't know whether or not he can be consistently dangerous.
If you own Smith, he's probably nothing better than a No. 3 receiver right now. I wouldn't start him against the Jets this weekend unless you're desperate. How he plays on Sunday should tell you a lot about his value moving forward.
