NFL Predictions Week 4: Matt Ryan and 4 Players Who Will Shine in Cakewalks

John RozumSep 29, 2011

Regardless of how your team has played in previous weeks, it's always nice to see them win a game by a blowout.

It's even more relieving if they've been in a bunch of close games, but this time they finally put the complete package together and bang on all cylinders.

To that end, there's always at least one player who really is the key to that specific team breaking away from the opponent.

So for Week 4 in pro football, here are four players who may shine so bright they will blind you.

Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings versus Kansas City Chiefs)

For one, with all the injuries to Kansas City, it's going to be difficult for the Chiefs to keep up with anyone. And although the Vikings are 0-3 as well, they don't have nearly the injury issue as K.C.

Two, the Vikings are gradually improving in the passing game.

In addition, Minny's defense has gotten better with each game; they just have yet to figure out how to close out games after getting nice leads early on.

That's where RB Adrian Peterson comes in.

At Arrowhead Stadium in Week 4, the Vikings once again come out the gates like Zenyatta, except this time they keep it rolling and dominate the already busted Chiefs.

Peterson has a field day and accounts for around 200 total yards and reaches pay dirt three times.

Vikings 30, Chiefs 9

Ryan Fitzpatrick (Buffalo Bills versus Cincinnati Bengals)

Yes, the Cincinnati Bengals once again have a solid defense, but unfortunately, they're still having off-field issues that have become on-field distractions. Otherwise, they wouldn't have lost to San Fran at home.

On the flip side, the Buffalo Bills are rolling with confidence after besting Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Week 3.

Cincy is quickly losing ground in 2011 despite all the young talent and potential, while the Bills are beginning to develop, especially QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

RB Fred Jackson has a solid day as well, but everything is set up by Fitz and his ability to rocket the ball downfield to WRs Steve Johnson and Donald Jones.

Buffalo totals 400 yards of offense, but 300 of it comes from the right arm of Ryan Fitzpatrick, as well as two TDs.

Bills 31, Bengals 10 (or should I say "Bungals"?)

Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons versus Seattle Seahawks)

This is a statement game for the Atlanta Falcons.

If they win, they get a solid road win that was desperately needed after losing to Chicago and Tampa Bay earlier in the season.

And whether they do pull out the W will rely on QB Matt Ryan, because the Seahawks are looking to shut down RB Michael Turner just as Tampa Bay did, which ultimately led to limiting the Falcons offense.

In Week 4, however, expect the Falcons to come out bombing the rock to offset their pace early on.

Seattle won't be expecting it, as most teams, regardless of how explosive, like to set up the run first and get a feel for the defense.

Ryan answers the call and has another 300-yard day to go with three TDs in a much-needed and convincing win for Atlanta.

Falcons 28, Seahawks 6

Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers versus Denver Broncos)

Let's face it, the Denver Broncos have no shot in this game unless all of Green Bay's starters decide to take the day off.

Sure, Denver has an improved defense, but the underachieving offense (and it won't matter who's under center) puts more pressure on the defense to consistently perform at a high level.

They're simply not there yet, while Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are.

Hence, Rodgers sends it deep whenever he wants, but after quickly building a big lead, he slows down as RB Ryan Grant runs the game out.

Rodgers hits over 300 yards and two TDs, but also runs for another TD when Denver drops eight in coverage.

Packers 35, Broncos 10
