Is the Sun Devils offense for real?
They put up 43 on USC and 37 on Missouri…but could only muster 14 in their loss to Illinois. The Beavers defensive unit has done a terrific job in the past three years of limiting the long drives of the Sun Devils.
Can they limit the points and keep the pressure off the extremely young offense?

We understand they're good players, and they are learning on the run. We have not coached this young of a team at Oregon State. However, they are really fun to coach.
The Beavers are dealing with the growing pains of starting 17 new players.
I know that program pretty well and we haven't beaten them in three year. I know Mike (Riley) very well, and I know the foundation of that program. They're warriors and they're competitors. They have a lot of pride in what they're doing. I've seen that for a long time.
Erickson is well aware of the poor recent history his team has against the Beavers.

OSU QB Sean Mannion vs. ASU Defense
The freshman is making his first career road start in one of the louder venues the Pac-12 has to offer. He can’t let the emotions of the moment get the best of him or this game will be a blowout by halftime.
As long as he makes the right reads and doesn’t force too many throws, he should keep his team in it.
Realistically this is too much to ask from a freshman, so expect the turnovers to be prevalent, and the ultimate reason the Beavers go down.
