College Football Picks Week 5: Wisconsin and 2 Teams Headed for Impressive Wins
Three teams are going to pull out big wins and be the talk of college football in Week 5. This should help earn them votes from the AP pollsters and strike fear in the hearts of their opponents. Here are the three.
No. 7 Wisconsin over No. 8 Nebraska
Nebraska needs to run the ball to be successful. They are going to have a hard time running on Wisconsin's tough defensive line. Wisconsin has not allowed an opponent to rush for over four yards per carry on them yet this season.
That is going to leave Nebraska in for a long day.
The Badgers' well-balanced and dynamic offense is going to overwhelm Nebraska's weak defense. Wisconsin is going to win this game by 20 points and earn some first-place votes in the process.
No. 4 Boise State over Nevada
Last season, Boise State's BCS championship game were derailed by a very tough Nevada team. This Nevada team is a shell of last year's team, but that won't limit the Broncos' enthusiasm for exacting a little revenge.
Nevada's defense is getting rocked this year. They are 117th in the nation, giving up just over 39.3 points a game.
That does not bode well for their matchup against a Boise State team averaging 38.7 points per game on offense. Boise State is going to win this one by 30.
No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies over No. 18 Arkansas
Texas A&M is coming off of their heartbreaking loss to Oklahoma State. Had they made just one more play, it would be them that was No. 5 in the nation instead of the Cowboys.
They will be fired up to prove that they are a Top Five-caliber team in this showdown with the Razorbacks.
Offensively, Arkansas has a similar attack to Oklahoma State in that the passing game leads the way. Except Arkansas is not as good as the Cowboys passing the football.
The Aggies did a good job containing the Cowboys passing for long stretches last week. They will be ready to prove they can play a complete game in this one.
The Aggies will win by 14.
