There is no way that a calf injury is going to stop Adrian Peterson from running the ball a ton this week for the Minnesota Vikings, and as long as the coaching staff gives him a chance, he will get the team their first win.
Minneapolis Star Tribune Vikings beat writer Jim Souhan is reporting on twitter about Adrian Peterson’s availability for Sunday’s game:
To say that Adrian Peterson is a must start is silly because the only way he should be out of your lineup is when it says ‘bye’ or ‘out’, and even then he is probably a better option than most other backs.

Adrian Peterson owners can relax now. It appears that all is good on the A-Pete injury front. Tom Pelissero of ESPN 1500 is reporting that Peterson just took a knee to the calf, and that he will be okay to practice today, and play on Sunday.

While you never want to see one of the game's only reliable fantasy running backs missing time, this is nothing for Peterson's fantasy owners to worry about.
Is it something that they should be monitoring as the week progresses? Yes, definitely keep an eye on the situation.
But as of right now, this isn't a situation that should have you even considering leaving Peterson on your bench.
The matchup against Kansas City is still a very good one for Peterson. If Sunday's loss against Detroit showed us nothing else, it showed that the Vikings don't have reliable rushing options outside of Peterson.
If they had a proven backup, I would be a little more likely to advise you to tread carefully. Now, I still wouldn't suggest that you bench Peterson right now. Running back is still a thin position and Peterson is by far the best in the game.
But Minnesota just doesn't have stability at running back beyond Peterson. He's too good and the matchup is too good for him.
Again, keep your eyes open for future updates. If he misses another practice this week, I still wouldn't suggest benching him, but it's more of a possibility.
Right now, just be aware that he missed Wednesdays practice and that it's a situation that should be monitored.
Given Peterson's impact on the league, there will be no shortage of updates as the week progresses.
