Ball State vs. Oklahoma: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More
The Oklahoma Sooners lost their No. 1 ranking last week, but they remain undefeated. On Saturday, they host a non-conference game against the Ball State Cardinals.
The Sooners are heavily favored at home against Ball State. A lot of things would have to happen for Ball State to be competitive in this one.
Where: Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Norman, Oklahoma
When: Saturday, October 1 at 7 p.m. EDT
Watch: FSN PPV
Listen: Ball State Radio Network in Muncie. KOKC 1520, KRXO 107.7 in Oklahoma City. Streamed online at soonersports.com
Spread
Betonline.com lists Oklahoma as a 37-point favorite. That's a really difficult spread to take. The Sooners are clearly the more talented team here, but a 37-point win is not easy to accomplish.
Given the talent difference, I would say that Oklahoma will cover here. But these are spreads to avoid.
Over/Under
An over/under of 60.5 is pretty significant. You pretty much need to ask yourself, how many points will Oklahoma score?
If Ball State needs more than about 10 points to cover the difference, I would go with the under. Again, this isn't a particularly good area to bet on, but I am going to go with the under here.
Key Injuries
Ball State CB Jason Pinkston (hamstring) is doubtful.
Ball State OT Austin Holtz (knee), CB Quintin Cooper (knee), CB Odis Prunty (concussion) and C David Raffin (leg) are all doubtful.
Ball State RB Cory Sykes (thumb) is out.
Ball State RB David Brown (back) is out for the year.
Oklahoma OT Daryl Williams (ankle) and WR Kenny Stills (concussion) are questionable.
Oklahoma K Jimmy Stevens (quad) is doubtful.
Oklahoma C Ben Habern (arm) and WR Trey Franks (suspension) are out.
Oklahoma WR Trey Metoyer (academics) is out for the year.
BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications
Oklahoma is ranked No. 2 behind LSU. They won't jump LSU unless they lose, but as long as the Sooners keep winning, they are safe for the National Championship Game.
Keys to Ball State Win
The QB/RB duo of Keith Wenning and Jahwan Edwards will need to have great games.
Their defense will need to be on point. Shutting Oklahoma down is a losing proposition, but the Sooners can't run too wild.
Keys to Oklahoma Win
If they don't turn the ball over, Oklahoma will win this one easily. Landry Jones and Ryan Broyles shouldn't have any problem putting this one out of reach by halftime.
Prediction
Whether Oklahoma is overrated or not remains to be seen. But they have far too much talent in this one.
The Sooners will cruise to a win at home.
