College Football Predictions Week 5: Alabama and 3 Teams Who'll Silence Critics
There are still undefeated teams who aren't being given the respect they deserve. Be it a cupcake schedule or blind hate that has naysayers coming out of the woodwork, there are several deserving teams who aren't being given the credit they deserve.
Here are three teams who will silence the critics in Week 5.
No. 8 Wisconsin
Wisconsin is the best team in the Big Ten and Week 5 gives them a golden opportunity to prove it in front of their home crowd. They have been accused of rolling through a soft schedule, but so has Nebraska.
This game isn't in Lincoln, and Wisconsin's 48.5 points and 8.5 points allowed per game are downright incredible.
They are in for a tough matchup, but the Blackshirts have proven to be vulnerable at times. Russell Wilson is picking up right where Scott Tolzien left off and will allow Wisconsin to give Nebraska a not-so-warm welcome into the conference.
No. 3 Alabama
Alabama and LSU are in a dead heat right now. Both could make their case for being the best team in not only the SEC, but the entire nation. One of LSU's biggest talking points is the signature win they obtained in their opener. A victory over Florida would give Alabama a win of the same caliber.
Alabama mopped up Arkansas last week, giving them two wins over ranked opponents. Taking down three ranked opponents, including two on the road, would be another step towards winning over voters.
With Trent Richardson on a tear, it looks like another Crimson Tide victory is on the way. It's going to be hard for voters to continue to justify ranking Alabama below LSU and Oklahoma when they pull through this week.
No. 13 Clemson
Who would have thought the Clemson Tigers would be in this position when the season started? They continue to fly under the radar despite the huge wins they continue to acquire. With two wins over ranked opponents under their belts, the Tigers have to prove they can win on the road.
They take on Virginia Tech this week, and though they are technically the underdog and on the road, Clemson is far more battle tested than Virginia Tech.
They'll have to hold running back David Wilson in check, but it's hard not to believe in Clemson at this point. They continue to prove themselves every week and after Virginia Tech, they'll have bagged three Top 25 teams and will be recognized for the Top 10 they are.
No. 15 Baylor
Even though Baylor was able to take down TCU in their opener, some voters still have reservations about the Bears. They get a chance to prove they are an elite Big 12 team when they take on bubble team Kansas St. this week.
Baylor's defense has proven to be suspect at times, but they have one of the best offenses in the entire nation. Their season-low point total is 48, and nobody has been able to hold Baylor in check.
They're going to be tested on the road this week, but given the way Robert Griffin III has played this season, it's hard to see Baylor falling this week. Baylor continues to gain more and more believers every time they take the field, and this week will be no different.
