Week 4 Waiver Wire: Top 5 Picks to Transform Your Team
Welcome to the wide receiver version of the Waiver Wire weekly. Four of your top five pickups are all wideouts, so if you happened to lose Kenny Britt for the season, you're in luck.
See if any of these guys are available in your league and make your move quickly, because there are some great pickups if you are paying attention.
Rex Grossman
1 of 5Owned in 22.8% of ESPN leagues.
So the Sex Cannon may not have had his best game last week against the Cowboys, but if you're looking for a QB at least you have one here who you know is going to throw the ball a lot, take his shots downfield, and most likely get it into the endzone a few times.
Grossman also has Hightower putting together a pretty good season at RB, so that takes some pressure off him. That means less blitzes and more time to throw it long.
Torrey Smith
2 of 5Owned in 15.4% of ESPN leagues.
You gotta be careful with Torrey Smith. For the first two weeks of the season he put up a big, giant goose egg before going off for 152 yards and three touchdowns in Week 3.
However, you have to think that Joe Flacco will be looking Smith's way a lot more often now that he played a huge part in Flacco's biggest game so far.
Don't expect those kinds of numbers again, but Smith should be a consistent part of the Ravens' offense moving forward.
Victor Cruz
3 of 5Owned in 8.8% of ESPN leagues.
With Domenik Hixon out for the year, expect Cruz to step up into his spot and put up some great numbers. He already showed that with a breakout 110 yard game with two touchdowns.
He only had three catches, so don't expect him to get a ton of chances, but it looks like Manning will be looking Cruz's way for a score, so I think he's worth taking a flyer on.
Nate Washington
4 of 5Owned in 50.7% of ESPN leagues.
If you're in the other 50 percent of leagues that Washington is available in, go get 'em.
With Kenny Britt done for the season, Washington's role will get even bigger. He's already had games with six, seven and eight catches, so you know he'll get his targets and his chances.
Last week he finally got into the endzone. That will happen a few more times this year.
David Nelson
5 of 5Owned in 31.7% of ESPN leagues.
This just in, the Buffalo Bills are for real and they are an offensive powerhouse.
Nelson already has 20 catches in three games. If that doesn't scream consistent production to you, I don't know what to tell you.
Fitzpatrick is going to be throwing the ball all around the field. Stevie Johnson can't get all the love. So grab up Nelson and thank me later, especially if you have a league with points per reception.
