Fantasy Football Week 4 Rankings: Rob Gronkowski and the Top 3 TEs

Andrea HangstJun 6, 2018

In a year that started out with a glut of high-quality fantasy tight ends, the talent has begun to separate itself from the rest of the pack.

Through three weeks, a number of tight ends have had excellent performances.

Here, I will detail three who should perform well for your team in Week 4, should you have them on your roster.

Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots (at Oakland Raiders)

It's no secret that Tom Brady loves to throw to his tight ends. With Aaron Hernandez still sidelined with a sprained MCL, Gronkowski has emerged as the best tight end in the league.

Last week, against the Buffalo Bills, Gronkowski had seven receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns. His 17 catches on the year have gone for a total of 281 yards and five touchdowns.

This week, the Patriots take on the Oakland Raiders in a game that I see being yet another shootout. This bodes well for Gronkowski's fantasy numbers. He's a reliable every-down option for Brady and it would be ridiculous to think that his production is going to decline any time soon.

Even once Hernandez returns, Gronkowski won't lose any value. He's a must-start every week, without question.

Jermichael Finley, Green Bay Packers (vs. Denver Broncos)

The Packers' Finley is coming off a three-touchdown performance in his team's win over the Chicago Bears in Week 3. Finley caught seven of eight balls thrown his way and racked up 85 yards.

While those three touchdowns are the only he's hauled so far this season, his targets—and yards—have been increasing with every passing week. Against the dismal Broncos this Sunday, he should have ample scoring opportunities.

He's hindered slightly because quarterback Aaron Rodgers has so many talented receivers at his disposal, which has the potential to keep Finley's targets low. However, he won't just get those targets, he'll do something with them as well. His 13.7 yards-per-catch average guarantees it.

Jimmy Graham, New Orleans Saints (at Jacksonville Jaguars)

Jimmy Graham is a major threat in the Saints' passing game. He's easily helped to fill the void left by injured wide receiver Marques Colston, who is recovering from a broken collarbone.

Graham has pulled down 14 receptions for 235 yards and two touchdowns in three games. This includes his stellar Week 3 performance against the Houston Texans, in which he caught four passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.

As Rotoworld notes, Graham is an athletic tight end with both size and speed akin to a top wide receiver. It's hard for opposing defenses to plan for him, let alone stop him.

This week, the Saints travel to Jacksonville to take on the struggling Jaguars; Graham should step up in a major way, with another good game from the tight end practically guaranteed.
