NFL Predictions Week 4: 3 Teams Set Up for a Fall

Ryan RudnanskySep 28, 2011

Thanks to their schedules, some teams have been able to skate through the first three weeks of the season.

But in Week 4, there are some matchups bound to send aspiring teams back to earth.

Here are three teams set up for a fall in Week 4.

3. New York Jets

The Jets, coming off a wake up call against the Oakland Raiders, will receive another in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Jets have been able to maintain their passing game behind the improved play of quarterback Mark Sanchez and a secret weapon in new acquisition Plaxico Burress. However, they haven't yet faced a defense like the Ravens. In Baltimore, the Jets will see their weak running game catch up to them again.

It doesn't help that No. 2 cornerback Antonio Cromartie could be out with a bruised lung.

2. Houston Texans

Make no mistake about it, I love what the Texans have done this season behind new cornerback Johnathan Joseph and rookie defensive end J.J. Watt. I see them winning the AFC South.

However, against the vaunted Pittsburgh Steelers defense, I see them headed for a fall. The Steelers defense will rebound after a lackluster performance against the Indianapolis Colts and show what they're made of.

1. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have reached a 2-1 mark largely because of their defense and the fact they've played two bottom-feeders in the Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals. The only good team they've played are the Dallas Cowboys, who San Francisco allowed to come back from a 24-14 deficit and win.

The 49ers head into Philadelphia to face the Eagles on Sunday and will prove to be just another NFC West team, which is a bad thing.
