Fantasy Football Rankings Week 4: Chris Johnson and 3 Players on the Slide

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

Amidst the applause and fanfare of a new NFL season, we have lost sight of what really matters. My team is a mess because of a certain number of stars who are stinking up the joint.

It wasn't too long ago that I wore a smile and carried a great deal of confidence after my NFL fantasy draft. I had in tow some guys who couldn't miss, until they did.

Here is a list of some guys who are killing my team, your team and every last person that was duped into drafting them.

I don't need an apology, mind you. I just need these guys to step up and achieve more than four fantasy points. Look, you are embarrassing me. Now get out there and play like it matters.

1. Chris Johnson

The best player just two seasons ago has fallen on humble times. In fact, I think Vince Wilfork has more yards per carry as this point in the season.

Johnson was projected as fourth in Y! rankings. He has now set up camp at 154. Do you know what that does to a fantasy team? Let me give you a hint, it doesn't help.

2. Rashard Mendenhall

I couldn't in good conscience talk about my fantasy running back without offering up another dismal burner.

The Steelers and their soft offensive line should be as much to blame for Mendenhall's tragic 2011 start. One touchdown in three games is not going to cut it.

3. Mario Manningham

Manningham looked poised to take over the No. 2 slot next to Hakeem Nicks. He had a fine preseason then proceeded to lay eggs in Weeks 1 and 2.

If you haven't guessed, egg laying in the NFL is not a pretty sight. With a week off due to a concussion, Victor Cruz has rocketed up the charts, endangering Manningham's touches.

4. DeAngelo Williams

Luckily, I stayed clear of Williams at the draft. I already had one overpaid player in Chris Johnson.

Williams has been outplayed by Jonathan Stewart to start the year. I don't see him with the momentum to take back the reps that a man of his pay grade deserves.
