Torrey Smith: Ravens' Rookie Brings Big Plays and Big Points to Fantasy Owners
The Baltimore Ravens already had a solid arsenal of wide receivers with Anquan Boldin and Lee Evans, but the surprise talents of rookie Torrey Smith have delighted both Ravens fans and fantasy owners.
With no receptions in the first two games of the season, fantasy owners were getting ready to pull the kill switch on the rookie’s tenure on their team, but kudos to the people who kept riding the train until it showed some promise.
Although you shouldn’t expect five catches for 152 yards and three touchdowns, he is the kind of player to stow on your bench for the bye week rush that is just over the horizon.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told the Los Angeles Times about Torrey Smith’s abilities and stamina against his tough defensive teammates:
""Torrey had no choice but to keep his confidence up. Our guys have been riding him for a month straight, and they were led by Terrell Suggs. They are a band of brothers on the defensive side. They toughen you up quite a bit. Torrey fought through it and the last couple of weeks, he has really been catching the ball well in practice. I think he and Joe are starting to tie this thing together."

There is nothing better for a rookie than constantly going up against one of the toughest defenses in the entire NFL, and it’s those battles that made Smith the player we saw Sunday.
With a new speedy deep threat to take the top off the defense, there will be more room over the middle for veteran Anquan Boldin to make big plays.
If the Ravens keep feeding the ball to the former Maryland standout, there is a good chance their potent offense and stellar defense will make a real dent in the AFC.
