Michael Vick Injury: Philadelphia Eagles Are Making a Huge Mistake Starting QB
Michael Vick was still recovering from a concussion when the Philadelphia Eagles trotted him out to the field in Week 3 against the New York Giants. Vick proceeded to get knocked around and ended up being removed from the game with a deep bone bruise in his non-throwing hand.
Now, reports claim that the Eagles think their franchise quarterback will be in the starting lineup against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. I'm going to go on record saying this is a horrible idea.
You can argue whether or not Philadelphia rushed Vick back into action after suffering a concussion in Week 2, and some reason that because he passed all his concussion tests that he was fine to play. But anyone who watched Sunday's game could tell that he was nowhere near 100 percent. Vick often looked woozy and lost after plays and took several very hard hits.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Eagles should have learned their lesson from that experience. Yes, a hand injury is not the same as a concussion, but letting Vick play while not 100 percent—especially behind a suspect offensive line—can only lead to disaster.
Vick will be in pain every time he takes a snap with his injured right hand. In fact, every snap will only aggravate the injury and could make it linger for even longer. This weekend against a 49ers team that is not even close to as good as its 2-1 record, the Eagles shouldn't need Vick to win.
Vince Young and Mike Kafka are both capable of leading the Eagles past San Francisco, especially with LeSean McCoy running like one of the best backs in the NFL right now.
The Eagles need to look at this season with a long lens. Yes, they are 1-2 right now, but they have the talent to win the NFC. That only happens if Vick is fully healthy and playing as well as he can. Throwing him out there week after week when he isn't 100 percent is a terrible idea.
Philadelphia should sit Vick this week and let his hand heal.
