NFL Power Rankings: Critiquing PFT's Week 3 Rankings

ProFootballTalk has released their most current Power Rankings and there's only one thing to do: critique them.

The guys over at PFT usually do a decent job piecing together their rankings each week, so let's see how they did this time around.

They have the Packers and Saints at No. 1 and No. 2. 

No problem there. 

We may have seen the best two teams in football on that opening Thursday night, but the defenses for both teams need to improve in defending both the run and the pass. 

Each club faced formidable opponents in Week 3 and orchestrated fantastic come-from-behind victories. 

That means a lot. 

The Lions deserve the No. 3 spot after their first win in Minnesota since 1997, and the Bills beat New England, a team many believed was the best in the league heading into Week 3. 

They sit at No. 5. 

Even with a loss, the Ravens have been dominating in their two victories. 

I like the Buccaneers and Raiders rounding out the top 10. They are coming off impressive wins over playoff teams of a year ago, and there are many underrated stars on both rosters. 

I don't see how the Cowboys are a spot ahead of the Texans, because Dallas was very sloppy on Monday Night Football and the Texans were very competitive against the team they slotted in the No. 2 spot. 

They showed a little bravery by ranking the Panthers (No. 19) ahead of the upstart, 2-1 Titans. 

I get it, though. 

Chris Johnson has yet to eclipse the 100-yard mark on the season, and Kenny Britt is done for the year. 

This is nit-picking a little, because in could easily wind up being irrelevant, but I think the Dolphins deserve more respect than the No. 31 position. 

They've faced three very good teams and were in each game in the second half. 

Overall, a solid, well-thought out list by PFT this week.
