Manchester United: Red Devils Doomed with Wayne Rooney Injured

Without Wayne Rooney, Manchester United isn't invincible.

They have plenty of talent aside from their star striker, but with Rooney falling to a hamstring injury, they are a beatable opponent.

The Red Devils have set a ridiculous pace for themselves, and they owe it all to their star striker. Rooney has had an incredible start to the season, generating a whopping nine goals already.

While Manchester United is stacked with strikers, none will be able to replace Rooney in the slightest. He could miss weeks, according to Sir Alex Ferguson. If he does, we can expect them to be involved in more matches like the draw they suffered against Stoke City.

Rooney's absence evens out the playing field. They are obviously overloaded with talent and have plenty of people who can score, but they aren't the bullies of the EPL without their best player on the pitch.

The Red Devils are being targeted by every team in the EPL, and for the first time this season, they are vulnerable. While they are still going to hold their own, the days of demolishing every opponent that comes in front of them are over as long as Rooney is sidelined.

On the bright side, this gives Dimitar Berbatov a chance to get involved in the action. Manchester United has a spoil of riches, and Berbatov has been pushed to the wayside this season.

With Rooney falling victim to a nagging hamstring, Berbatov has a golden opportunity to pick up some significant playing time and showcase his skills.

Without Rooney, Manchester United will watch their unbeaten record disappear and their attack will be significantly slowed down. Luckily for them, the injury is only temporary.

The Red Devils have given themselves room to falter, and when Rooney re-enters the lineup, it won't be long before they are wreaking havoc once again.
