NFL Picks Week 4: Early Lines to Lock Up Before They Move

Alex KaySep 27, 2011

It’s Tuesday and most of the early lines are out for Week 4 of the NFL.

Besides the Lions vs. Cowboys, 49ers vs. Eagles and Redskins vs. Rams, you can start making your early plays and get some great value before the spreads and over/under totals move.

There are three teams that caught my eye already that you should play before the spread moves against them this week. Let’s take a gander.

Minnesota -2 at Kansas City

Minnesota is going to get their first straight-up victory this week and also cover this -2 spread.

The Chiefs are not that good and finally got their first ATS victory against the Chargers as 14.5-point underdogs.

KC unsurprisingly played a divisional rival closely and is getting way too much credit this week.

I think that eventually this line is going to shift to the Vikings -3 or possibly even more, so if you can get them in to win by less than a field goal, you are golden.

New York Giants -2 at Arizona

There is no possible way the Giants lose to the Cardinals after shellacking the Eagles this week, and they are getting healthier as the weeks go on.

The Cardinals just dropped a game to the Seattle Seahawks last week, possibly the worst team in the entire league. Tarvaris Jackson is an incompetent joke of a QB.

Eli Manning will have a field day against this weak secondary.

This line is going to move against the Giants when the public wakes up and realizes these simple facts, so get it in now.

New England -4.5 at Oakland

The Bills beat the Patriots because Tom Brady threw four interceptions and the team could not stop the pass.

Brady is too good to have a repeat performance like that, and the Patriots are capable of stopping the run.

Oakland beats teams by running the ball down their throat, which the Pats’ wont allow this week. They will force Jason Campbell to beat them with his arm, and it’s something I don’t believe he can do.

I also think Oakland’s secondary is very weak and Brady should be able to torch them. They should win by at least a touchdown, so get your Patriots wager in now.
