Kristin Cavallari Getting Friendly with Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler Again

Second thoughts, cold feet and regret—Jay Cutler has had them all. Now it seems he and Kristin Cavallari are back on speaking terms, giving hope that a reunion is not far off for the once engaged couple.

Perhaps the constant sacks sustained on the field have knocked some sense into the Bears' star quarterback. Maybe he just wants to regain a friend he lost when he called off the wedding.

Whatever the case, Cutler and Kristin Cavallari, the friends, are back. The two as a couple will have to wait as a marriage debacle looms in the background.

People Magazine reports the two have opened the lines of communication recently. A source told the magazine, "They're not officially back together, but they're definitely talking and figuring things out."

The news follows some telling tweets the two have posted in the last week. As Cavallari was preparing for her first episode of Dancing with the Stars, Cutler posted this good luck charm for his former fiancee.

He then sent a similar tweet ahead of her Week 2 stint on the popular DWTS. It is quite clear that Cutler not only has affections for Cavallari, but that he would like us all to know the two are still friends.

Cavallari has nothing but support for the Bears QB. On Sunday, she tweeted, "Let's go bears!!! @audra_griffis @stephbiegel. Good luck @jaycutler6." The tweet was linked to this picture of a joyful Cavallari rocking some Bears gear.

As you can see, this is far from the bleak situation we thought it was. So what changed? You would think that being spurned after picking out a wedding dress and registry would have left a bad taste in Cavallari's mouth.

A man that calls off something as momentous as a marriage must have some very good reasons to do so.

It may be as simple as the two just weren't ready. The most telling aspect of the report is when the source states, "Everything happened too fast when they first got together. So this time they're taking things slow."

Celebrities live on a different plane than you and I. Such decisions as marriage are met with flippancy. After dating for less than a year, the two made the biggest commitment of their lives.

For once, cooler heads are prevailing. There is no way of knowing if the two plan on escalating their discussions to the next level, or if they will one day be a romantic couple again.

The only thing we can glean from the report is that the two are friends, and they still support one another. That sort of relationship is hard to throw away, and they should count themselves lucky for having it.
