2011 NFL Fantasy Football Week 4: Wide Receivers (WR) Rankings / Projections

Sean E. DouglasMay 31, 2018

Calvin Johnson @ Cowboys—

Six touchdowns in three games makes Calvin Johnson the top receiver on our Week 4 wide receiver rankings as the undefeated Lions take on the Cowboys in Dallas. Assuming Tony Romo is on the field, this should be a game of fire works, and Johnson should have a great opportunity for his fourth straight game with two touchdowns.

Roddy White @ Seahawks—

The Falcons star receiver has had a slow start to the season, but he picked it up last week with 140 yards against the Buccaneers. This week the Falcons should have no problem picking up their second win as White should be good for 100 yards and a touchdown against Seattle’s shaky secondary.

Wes Welker @ Raiders—

After tearing apart the Bills secondary for 16 receptions and over 200 yards receiving, Wes Welker heads to Oakland to torture the Raiders. Not one of the more explosive options, Welker relies on his route-running ability and sure hands to carve up secondaries underneath and should have another productive game as the Patriots will be in another close game on the road.

A.J. Green @ Bills—

Keep an eye on A.J. Green’s status coming into this game as he had an ankle injury that limited him in practice on Friday, before the Bengals faced off against the 49ers. While Green played throughout the game, he failed to get much done, but he has another opportunity to post productive numbers against the Bills secondary. While rookie quarterback Andy Dalton has some growing up to do, he’s playing well enough that Green is a worthy WR-3 play weekly.

Mario Manningham @ Cardinals—

The Giants were without their normal No. 2 starting receiver Mario Manningham against the Eagles and slot man Victor Cruz picked it up with a huge game. Both receivers are worth starting against the Cardinals suspect secondary, but keep an eye on Manningham’s progress throughout the week as concussions can linger, and it’s no lock that he will play.

Dwayne Bowe vs Vikings—

Can we please put the, “should I start Dwayne Bowe” talk to bed for awhile as the Chiefs Pro Bowl receiver has put up respectable numbers in each of the past two weeks, despite the teams poor play. The Chiefs actually had a chance to beat the Chargers in San Diego and Bowe has a respectable matchup against the Vikings this week. While the Chiefs will have their struggles, the one option  in the passing game that Matt Cassel is comfortable with is Bowe, and he should remain as a weekly starter in most fantasy lineups.

Denarious Moore vs Patriots—

It’s time to view Denarious Moore as an option to start going forward as this young talent just finds a way to make plays. Moore had just over 34 yards receiving, but he picked up a key 23-yard rushing touchdown on a reverse against the Jets. Moore is a big time play maker and has a chance to be a special player in this league for some time.

Please Note—Jeremy Maclin is considered unlikely to play against the 49ers and I’ve left him off our Week 4 rankings.
