3 NFL Teams Ready To Crack the Top 10 by Week 4

Tim KeeneyJun 7, 2018

Week 3 was possibly the most exciting so far of the young NFL season. Heading into the fourth quarter of the early games, each of the eight games was separated by just one score.

The parity throughout this week represents the parity throughout the NFL. No team has clearly separated themselves as an easy Super Bowl pick, and there are arguably 15 different teams that belong in the top 10.

Here's a look at three teams outside that could easily crack the top 10 by next week.

Oakland Raiders

1 of 3

As long as Darren McFadden stays healthy, the Oakland Raiders are an absolute contender in this league.

The New York Jets have always been one of the best teams in the league at stopping the run, but they were given a rude awakening on Sunday in Oakland as McFadden ran for 171 yards on just 19 carries.

As it stands right now, the Raiders might have the best running game in the league. When that's true, you can play with anyone.

Jason Campbell has run their offense with precision and Kamerion Wimbley has been huge for the defense.

A Week 4 matchup at home against New England awaits, and if the Raiders win that one, they'll suddenly be recognized as one of the best teams in the league.

Tennessee Titans

2 of 3

We've already seen the good and the bad with the Tennessee Titans this year. The good being Week 2's dismantling of Baltimore and the bad being Week 1's disappointment on the road against Jacksonville.

Now with the injury to Kenny Britt things seem to be getting even worse for the Titans, but I'm not ready to write them off just yet.

They've now pulled off two wins with star running back Chris Johnson essentially invisible. Matt Hasselbeck is playing his best football in a long time, and I'm confident he can lead this team even without Britt.

Tennessee's defense has been terrific and as soon as CJ2K gets going, the Titans will be ready for a playoff run.

If they show they can win on the road next week at Cleveland, they should crack the top 10 with a 3-1 record.

New York Giants

3 of 3

Sure they benefited from Michael Vick's injury, but even before Vick left the New York Giants were outplaying the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

The injury-riddled Giants have now put together two straight quality wins after a disappointing Week 1. As soon as they start getting healthy, they are looking they will be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC East.

They have two winnable games coming up with Arizona and Seattle, and a 4-1 start should put them in the top 10.
