Kenny Britt Injury: Updates on Titans Star's Week 4 Status and Fantasy Value

Alex KaySep 26, 2011

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt suffered an injury in the second quarter of the team's win over the Denver Broncos.

Initial prognosis for Britt was very unfavorable and the best-case scenario was a torn MCL while the worst would be an MCL and ACL tear.

Unfortunately for the Titans, the injury was both an MCL and ACL tear and he will undergo season ending surgery.

The Titans are planning a low-profile signing and replacing Britt's production by committee. Safely add Nate Washington in all formats if you owned Britt.

According to The Tennessean,

"

[Mike] Munchak said high-profile possibilities such as Terrell Owens and Randy Moss, who played in eight games with the Titans last season, were not on his radar.

With Britt's status still unknown, it seems like the Titan's are going go ahead and start seeking replacements for the injured WR.

According to Jim Wyatt at The Tennessean,

"

"Receiver Buster Davis is among those scheduled to work out for team officials at Baptist Sports Park on Tuesday. Donnie Avery, a second round pick by the Rams in the 2008 draft, has also talked to the Titans about visiting."

Perhaps Kenny Britt is not done for the season, as Matt Rybaltowski is reporting that Titans team doctors have not yet officially made a comment on Britt's MRI

Monday, Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m. EDT

CBS Sports is reporting that,

"

“Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt will undergo season-ending surgery on his right knee to repair multiple torn ligaments…”

"

No one was sure of his status after the game and the team initially hoped it was just an MCL injury, which would have sidelined Britt for a few weeks but not the entire season.

The CBS Sports Wire adds,

"

“The Titans are likely to lean on veteran vertical threat Nate Washington while asking more of Damian Williams and Lavelle Hawkins. The injury is a major hindrance for an offense that has been decidedly pass-first as running back Chris Johnson has rushed for just 98 yards in his first three games.”
