Manchester United: Injury List Strongest Side in Premier League?
The past weekend seemed to have challenged the Champions more than ever when the were put to a stern test at the Britannia finishing even with a 1-1 scoreline.
After scoring at will, it seemed Peter Crouch's header sealed an important draw for both teams, the point ensured United keep top spot even though it was just on goal difference.
But the 1-1 result won't bother Sir Alex more than the fact that he knows he has a long list of injured players who could topple any attack, amongst the wounded are some of the top names in International football.

Injury List
Namanja Vidic
Chris Smalling
Johnny Evans
Rafael da Silva
Darren Gibson
Tom Cleverly
Michael Carrick
Javier Hernandez
While Sir Alex was lauded for his depth in-squad, could this trial come at a worst time as United look to host Basel at Old Trafford in a Champions League Group Stage encounter?
While Basel might bring a major attacking threat, Ferguson will look to put out a strong enough squad.
No doubt there are other players with the squad who could do the job, but the Gaffer will be well aware of the defensive frailties that lie ahead with four defenders out, Carrick another player who could slot in at the back also out.
In-front many hope Rooney and Hernandez could return quickly, while United do have some top quality strikers to replace them with Berbatov, Owen, Macheda, Diouf and Welbeck amongst the contenders.
Importantly many eyes would be on the injured cast a week after Owen Hargreaves made claims about the quality of medical services at Manchester United.
An added bonus for Sir Alex would be an easier fixture week with Basel followed by Norwich at home. Then 15 days before the next match which is a massive away clash with old rivals Liverpool.
Possible LineUp (Starting XI - Basel)
Lindergaard,
Fabio, Jones, Rio Ferdinand (C), Evra,
Fletcher, Anderson, Park, Giggs,
Berbatov, Macheda
Still a fairly strong side with enough experience through the middle, could also be the time for Berbatov to take a more senior role up front, Ferguson will also have enough quality on the bench with Nani, Young, Valencia and Welbeck all fit and have pace to change the game if needed.
