Fantasy Football Week 3 Injury Report: 3 Injuries That Will Force a Roster Move

Eric BallSep 26, 2011

Injuries can derail even the best fantasy team.

The cruel, random nature makes forecasting them impossible to predict. Here are three injuries in Week 3 that are going to impact your fantasy team going forward:

Kenny Britt- WR

The Titans budding star looked tremendous in the first two week's and was one of the top fantasy options in the league heading into Week 3. Now it looks like he has a torn MCL and will be lost for the season.

In the span of one play he goes from a must start every week player to get rid of him right away. It's a brutal turn of events that will also effect QB Matt Hasselbeck and RB Chris Johnson. Now the Titans are going to have one of the weakest receiving corps in the league as defenses zero in on CJ2K.

Not good.

Michael Vick- QB

The Eagles signal caller broke his non-throwing hand and then decided to blame the refs.

While he should only miss one-to-two games, I would keep him on the bench for the next month. He's forcing the issue right now and the pressure of being the leader of the "dream team" is getting to him.

That has led to too much over-thinking and the results are not good.

Pick up Ryan Fitzpatrick, Rex Grossman or Colt McCoy off the waiver-wire and stash Vick on the bench for the next few weeks.

Frank Gore- RB

Gore hurt his ankle in the second quarter of the 49ers win over the Bengals and his Week 4 status is very much in the air. He continued to play in the game, but was clearly not himself, struggling to make sharp cuts when hitting the hole.

Consider picking up his backup Kendall Hunter, who scored the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Handcuffing the 49ers two backs is a great idea for Week 4, and potentially even longer depending on how quickly Gore's ankle heals.
