Take Time to be Thankful

As the 2008 Nascar Sprint Cup series comes to an end , it just happens to come at a time we all pause to be thankful and remember what blessings we got through the year.

I wonder what our Nascar guys are saying and giving thanks for as they sit down to a Thanksgiving meal tomorrow ? I hope Dale Jr is giving thanks for becoming part of the Chase again and for winning at MI.

I know he is thankful to Rick Hendrick and everyone that helped him be successful this year. It may not have played out the way they hoped, but hey guys face it, this past year was better then the last two combined.

Your fans believe in you Jr, next year will be even better !

Of course Jimmy Johnson is thanking Carl Edwards for trying to use his "REAL" car to play a "PRETEND" video game and making his winning the three-peat Championship a little easier.

Do you think Carl is saying thanks for coming in second in both series? Kevin Harvick could be giving thanks for not having to put up with Kyle Busch and his antics for a few months. Poor Smoke, try as his might did not win this year but still has to be thankful for the great years he had with JGR and Homedepot. Jeff Gordon has much to be thankful for, he has a beautiful wife and little girl who are there supporting him every week.

And us fans, are we thankful for this year and what Nascar has given us? It sure was an interesting year with many penalties, lawsuits, and one race we just as soon would like to forget. But I feel we do have many reasons to say thank you Nascar, for giving us a year of great races. How boring it will be until February!

Before you carve the turkey and dig into the cranberry sauce, pause for just a minute and be truly thankful for the blessings you have received this year. God bless you all.
