Steven Jackson Injury: Fantasy Projections for St. Louis Rams' Star RB
St. Louis Rams' running back Steven Jackson is active for the team's Week 3 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, but that doesn't mean you should expect big things from him.
Jackson is still recovering from a gimpy quad he suffered in Week 1, but he apparently didn't look slowed up in pregame warm-ups.
If you took a gamble and started Jackson this week that's good news. But while he looks to be back in game shape, and is likely to be the Rams' go-to guy today, he'll still probably give up some carries to backup Cadillac Williams.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Rams don't want to overdo it in Jackson's first action since their opening game, so don't expect him to carry his normal full load.
While you made the right gamble in playing him, Jackson may not be able to do much today.
Baltimore's front seven has held both Pittsburgh's Rashard Mendenhall and Tennessee's Chris Johnson in check during the team's first two games. The Steelers and Titans typically have more vaunted rushing attacks than St. Louis.
The Ravens have allowed just 70 rushing yards per game, which is fourth-best in the NFL.
Mendenhall managed just 45 yards and no touchdowns on 12 rushes in Baltimore's 35-7 Week 1 win, while Johnson finished with 53 yards and no touchdowns on 24 carries in the Titans' 26-13 win last weekend.
The fact that the Ravens held two of what are normally the league's top rushing offenses to such low numbers doesn't bode well for Jackson owners.
Still, if you didn't have another solid option and guessed right by playing him, you might be able to get short-yardage touchdown out of him at the very least.
Just don't expect 100-plus yards and multiple scores, because that's just asking way too much against a phenomenal Baltimore defense.
