Pavol Demitra, Vancouver
In his last four games for the Canucks, Pavol has scored six points (four goals, two assists) for a 1.5 point-per-game average. In his first eight games, he had seven points (three goals, four assists) for a 0.88 average.
He’s scored at least 50 points in each of the past six seasons (and nine of his last 10). He’s a good value in the Sporting News Salary Cap league at $3.4 million.
Winger
Dainius Zubrus, New Jersey
Dainius had four goals and two assists in his last three games (2.0 ppg). His four goals all came on November 23 against Tampa Bay. In his first 17 games, he had eight points (0.47). He recorded at least 50 points in 2006 and 2007, so the potential for producton is there. He’s a good value at $1.71 million.
Defenseman
Paul Martin, New Jersey
Elk River, MN’s Paul Martin has two goals and an assist in his last three games. He had just four points in his first 12 games (0.33 ppg). He has averaged close to 32 points per season over the past three years. He’s a nice value at $1.39 million.
Goalie
Curtis Sanford, Vancouver
Sanford is filling in for the injured Roberto Luongo. He’s gone 3-0, with a 1.69 GAA and a 93.9-percent save percentage. He only played in two games prior to last week going 0-1 with five goals allowed and s 87.8-percent save percentage.
