NFL Predictions Week 3: Which QBs Are Guaranteed to Have Huge Days?

Andrew GardaSep 25, 2011

There are a few sure things in life. Death. Taxes. Lying politicians. Bad reality TV.

And some quarterbacks who will blow up just about every week in fantasy football.

Here are some quarterbacks with a money back guarantee for fantasy points this week (money back guarantee not valid in the continental US, Alaska or any other spot on Earth).

Matt Stafford at Minnesota Vikings

The Detroit Lions are Kitty Cats no more and Matt Stafford's good health is the No. 1 reason why. Well, OK, a great defense doesn't hurt, but if you can't score, you can't win.

Stafford at 100 percent health with weapons like Calvin Johnson, Nate Burleson, Brandon Pettigrew, Titus Young and Jahvid Best is a thing of beauty and very hard to stop.

The Vikings are a team in disarray. Their once vaunted defense is on its last legs and ranked 23rd through two games, allowing three scores, including 230 yards and a touchdown to Tampa Bay and Josh Freeman last week.

The Lions could easily double that touchdown amount.

Stafford is looking at a huge day and the only thing which might slow him down is a huge early lead and some rest on the bench.

Cam Newton vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

I'm not enough of a believer in Newton to say he's a weekly start, but you can't pass this week up. The Jacksonville Jaguars couldn't slow down the New York Jets last week and the Green Bay Packers ended up struggling against Newton.

This sounds like a bad day for Jacksonville, to be honest.

The Panthers have done a great job in setting Newton up to succeed and yet allow him to throw the ball a lot. Receiver Steve Smith has shown us what a tremendous waste it's been with the terrible quarterbacks Carolina has had.

That said, he and Brandon LaFell as well as tight ends Jeremy Shockey and Greg Olsen are effective weapons for Newton.

Jacksonville has struggled so far this year, while Newton for the most part hasn't.

It will be a big day for Newton and the Carolina passing offense.

Tom Brady at Buffalo Bills

Two 400-plus-yard games in a row? Seriously? He's on pace for what, 40 billion yards?

OK, maybe that's hyperbole but it certainly speaks to a great season in the making. Brady faces a Bills defense which shut down a now apparently awful Kansas City offense and got torched for most of a game against Oakland.

You'd be right to guess Brady—while perhaps not hitting 400 again—will have a great day. If Jason Campbell could do it against Buffalo, you know Brady and company can.

Aaron Rodgers at Chicago Bears

Like Brady, Aaron Rodgers is playing very, very well, although minus the back-to-back 400-yard games. Last week he has a great game against the Carolina Panthers and while the Bears are a better team overall defensively, they lack a secondary who will really challenge the Packer wide receivers.

The Bears' pass defense is 22nd in the NFL and gives up 270 yards against to the opposition, allowing three touchdowns so far this season and generating only one interception.

A hot Rodgers against a cool Bears D—sounds like a big day to me.

Drew Brees vs. Houston Texans

Drew Brees has thrown for big points in the first two weeks of the season, last week popping the Chicago Bears for 270 yards and a trio of touchdowns. This is without Marques Colston and Lance Moore. Brees can make anyone a fantasy starter, huh?

The Texans are a solid team and improved their secondary for just such an occasion and through two games, they've allowed just 162 yards per game and a pair of touchdowns.

Not shabby. Brees is a better class of quarterback than they have seen though and will be able to move the ball. I expect this to be a shootout and for Brees to compile some outstanding stats.
