Week 3 NFL Picks: Which Teams Will Emerge Favorites for Andrew Luck Lottery?

The Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts are emerging as the favorites to win the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. 

Luck is the clear favorite to be the top selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.  He has stated that he will be entering the draft, making every loss by these teams very important.

Any team searching for an answer at quarterback is hoping they are able to land Luck.  These teams may not be openly losing games, but this might be the only year ownership will accept loosing.  Luck is a great looking prospect, looking very close to a sure thing.  Can't-miss prospects are unheard of, but Luck is the closest in years.

The Seattle Seahawks appear in the most desperate situation, as they have no legitimate quarterback options.  Neither Tarvaris Jackson or Charlie Whitehurst inspire much hope for the future. 

The Seahawks have spent a lot of resources upgrading their offensive line, providing a decent unit for a rookie quarterback. Due to their early-season play, I believe the Seahawks could very well win the Luck sweepstakes.

The Miami Dolphins are also searching for some stability at the quarterback position.  Many feel that Chad Henne is not capable of leading his team to a Super Bowl. 

Miami's presence in the AFC East will likely mean a handful of divisional losses.  The key here is not how you look on the field, but your final place in the standings.

Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers would welcome another chance to coach Luck.  He is credited with the development of Luck.  However, some may feel Colin Kaepernick's presence could stop the 49ers from selecting Luck. 

That will never happen, Kaepernick is not in the same discussion as Luck.  If the 49ers land the top overall pick, they will select Luck.

The Indianapolis Colts' situation is very interesting.  Their early-season play has many feeling they could possibly go winless.  If that is the case, would they select Luck? 

Peyton Manning's injury has many people in Indianapolis worried.  However, nobody is ready to say this injury is career-threatening.  The real question is: How many years does Peyton Manning have left? 

If Manning is able to come back, he instantly makes the Colts a championship contender.  Adding a big-time playmaker could only help their chances.  However, selecting Luck would be the right move to secure the long-term future of the franchise.
