Week 3 Fantasy Football Projections: 3 RBs Who Will Dominate on Sunday

Austin GreenJun 7, 2018

Although the NFL is now undeniably a quarterback's league, the production of your running backs will still make or break your fantasy team. And if you have any of these three guys, you better start them in Week 3.

Ray Rice

Ray Rice has gotten off to a rough start this year after putting up just 43 yards in Week 1. However he bounced back nicely, running for 107 yards and a touchdown on just 19 carries against the notoriously tough Steelers D.

This week he faces St. Louis and their porous run defense. The Rams have given up the most rushing yards in the league this season, giving up 355 yards on the ground through two games.

Look for Rice to get his fair share of touches against the overmatched Rams defense. If he can light up the Pittsburgh defense, he should have no problem against St. Louis.

I'm expecting Rice to run for close to 150 yards and a couple scores.

Chris Johnson

Under normal circumstances, starting Chris Johnson would be a no-brainer. The dude has been a fantasy football god over the past several years.

But this season, Johnson has been shaky to say the least. He has just 77 rushing yards through two games. Usually, he gets that in a half.

He also has yet to run for a touchdown this year and his 2.3 yards per carry isn't exactly awe-inspiring.

However, I believe Johnson will turn it around this week. He's facing a Denver defense that is allowing 131 rushing yards per game and has yet to force a fumble.

Johnson has to turn it around at some point. This week he has the perfect opportunity.

Rashard Mendenhall

Mendenhall is facing the abysmal Colts run defense this week and he should rack up the fantasy points. Indy is giving up 136 rushing yards per game and has allowed four touchdowns on the ground thus far.

Look for Pittsburgh to recover from their humiliating loss last week by feeding the ball to Mendenhall early and often.

If you start Mendenhall, your team should reap the rewards as well.
