NBA's Perfect Pick-Ups
The NBA’s Perfect Pick-Ups is a list of players that are still in free-agency in a majority of fantasy leagues, that should be picked up IMMEDIATELY! Add these players to your squad, and you got yourself a great chance at making the playoffs, and maybe even winning your league (Owned percentages are through Yahoo! Fantasy NBA).
*Paul Millsap (PF/C, Utah)-OWNED 55 percent
With Carlos Boozer out for at least a week, Millsap will fill in at the starting job. He has proven to be a consistent fantasy player when given a good amount of playing time, and should give your team a little boost while Boozer is out.
Suggestion: If you are in need of rebounds and blocks, Millsap is the man to pick up right now (Especially if you have Boozer on your squad). Millsap is a safe pick-up for at least a week, and should be picked up as soon as possible!
*D.J. Augustin (PG, Char)- OWNED 43 percent
Over D.J.’s last four games, he is averaging a ridiculous 21 points per game with 6.25 assists. He has taken over the starting point-guard role, until J-Rich comes back from his injury.
Suggestion: D.J. is a rookie with extreme upside and great fantasy value when given the minutes to play. Pick him up if he is available as he will contribute points, threes, and assists for your team. If he can keep the starting point-guard role he could emerge as one of the greatest fantasy sleepers this season!
*Eric Gordon (SG, LAC)- OWNED 16 percent
After dropping 25 points on 9-18 shooting in his first career start, Gordon looks like he can turn into a fantasy stud. With Mobley shipped off to New York, it is safe to say that Gordon will get the new starting job.
Suggestion: If Gordon can get starting minutes for the remainder of the season he will be a huge sleeper this season. He can supply your team with points, 3PTM, steals, and a consistent FT percent average. If Gordon is available in your league he should be picked up immediately! SLEEPER ALERT!
*Andray Blatche (PF/C, Wash)- OWNED 15 percent
Blatche dropped a season high 25 points along with 12 re-bounds, three assists, and five blocks. Blatche has always had potential, but just hasn't proven to be consistent.
Suggestion: With a new head coach, Blatche could see an increase in his minutes. This is great news for Andray, as he gets a chance to show what he is capable of doing. With solid minutes per game, Andray could emerge into a double-double guy with around two blocks per game. Pick him up, as he is still available in 85 percent of leagues.
