NFL Picks Week 3: Detroit Lions Are Receiving the Most Wagers in Las Vegas

The Detroit Lions (2-0) and Minnesota Vikings (0-2) are set to open up their NFC North division schedules this year, and Las Vegas sports books will be watching with great interest.

Sunday's kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EDT from Mall of America Field at The Humbert Humphrey Metrodome.

In speaking with some key contacts on the Las Vegas strip, casual bettors have been lining up in droves to cash in on the resurgent Lions, as over 80 percent of straight-bet wagers have been placed on the team from the Motor City.

Detroit is the only NFL team that has registered a perfect 6-0 against-the-spread record when going back to the first week of the preseason. 

The Lions have covered their first two games of the regular season in impressive fashion and will now be road favorites against the Vikings for just the second time in 35 visits.  Trend players have pointed out that the team is 0-8 ATS in their last eight tries in this role.

Oddsmakers sent out the Lions as four-point road favorites, and it was immediately bet down to 3.5, only to go back up to its original number at the end of the night.

Interestingly enough, the line has been driven down in favor of the road team in this contest, as smart money continues to back the home underdogs in this contest.

Sports books aren't known to bet on games, but last week's score on the Tennessee Titans over the Baltimore Ravens was a huge victory for the house.

It appears they are rolling the dice again.
