Fantasy Football Week 3: Antonio Gates and 4 Injured Stars You Shouldn't Start

Jacqueline KirbyJun 7, 2018

OK people, we have one last shot to make adjustments to our fantasy football teams before the Week 3 games begin at 1 p.m. Last-minute injuries are plaguing the league, and some of your typical fantasy football go-to players are going to need to be benched this week.

This will be a good opportunity for teams to see how they can work without their star players and check out team chemistry as we get further into the season.

Antonio Gates

1 of 5

The Chargers tight end will be out of the game today with a foot injury.  This has been a continuing problem for him and the Chargers, who need their win today over Kansas City.

Beanie Wells

2 of 5

This one even hurts my fantasy team.  Wells is suffering a hamstring tweak and while he may play, he will not be playing 100 percent.

Mario Manningham

3 of 5

Unfortunately for the New York Giants, Mario Manningham will be out today in their game against the Philadelphia Eagles.  The wide receiver suffered a concussion last week and was not cleared to play today.

Peyton Hillis

The Browns star is not injured, but he has come down with strep throat and a fever and will not be allowed to play today against the Dolphins.  He started feeling poorly earlier on in the week, and it has only gotten worse.

Tony Romo

5 of 5

Tony Romo suffered fractured ribs and a punctured lung in last week's game.  Although injured, he battled through to come back and win against the San Francisco 49ers.

While he needs to redeem himself, Romo may not be the best decision to play today.
