Michigan Football vs. SDSU: Aztecs Waiting to Be Next "Appalachian State"
The Michigan Wolverines football team is undefeated at 3-0.
But don't let the record fool you.
This team has not played to their potential and they still have a steep learning curve to climb.
Followers of Michigan football will know that Michigan is still transitioning from a spread offense to a pro style offense.
Personally, I am still seeing more of the former spread offense than this pro-style offense that everyone keeps talking about.
Combine Michigan transitioning offenses and the fact that Brady Hoke's old team in San Diego State are not going to lay down and die on Saturday, I say that this game is going to be another dandy to watch.
Michigan has had three home games thus far, and two of them have been against MAC conference opponents.
In all three of the games, Michigan has a combined zero first quarter points.
Does that bother anybody else other than me?
Michigan must find its groove early on against San Diego State or they could be looking at another game that no Michigan fan wants to remember: Appalachian State.
San Diego State was 9-4 last year under current Michigan head coach, Brady Hoke.
The four losses?
A three point loss to then 25th ranked Missouri.
A three point loss at BYU.
A five point loss at third ranked TCU who would go on to win the Rose Bowl.
And finally, a four point loss against then 24th ranked Utah.
Still think this game is going to be a boring game to watch because Michigan is going to walk all over San Diego State?
Think again, this game has the makings of an upset and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Michigan finding themselves in another situation where it's a scoreless tie after the first quarter.
Keep your eyes open, don't fall asleep on this game, it could be more history in the making.
