Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts: Spread and Predictions

Kyle VassaloJun 7, 2018

There is no easy way to say it, the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to blow away the Indianapolis Colts.

Without Peyton Manning, the Colts have regressed into one of the worst teams in the NFL. While the Steelers were embarrassed in Week 1, they took care of business against the Seahawks in Week 2.

The Colts are even worse than the Seahawks and have absolutely no shot at taking the defending AFC champs. With so many holes all over the field, the Colts can't hope to contain the Steelers on either side of the ball.

With the Titans shocking the Ravens last week, it's clear Baltimore isn't going to run away with the AFC North. The Steelers just have to be sure they don't overlook the Colts entirely and give up an easy win.

Where: Lucas Oil Stadium

When: Sunday, Sept. 25, 8:20 p.m. ET

Watch: NBC

Spread: Pittsburgh -10

The Colts are going to get massacred. The spread was bigger last week when the Steelers took on the Seahawks. The Colts might be at home in front of their frustrated crowd, but it's still hard to give them the benefit of the doubt here.

Key Injuries

Pittsburgh Steelers: Brett Kiesel is considered questionable at this point. Kiesel is one of the most crucial parts of the front seven. Luckily, whether or not he plays shouldn't determine this game.

Fantasy Big Plays

Rashard Mendenhall is going to destroy the Colts' run defense. If you've got in him in your arsenal, it's going to be a great week. If you are going up against him, not so much.

Reggie Wayne is currently the 2011 version of Brandon Marshall last season. He's a top-flight receiver, but he's not going to put up top-flight receiver numbers because of the quarterback situation. He'll produce, but not in the manner in which Wayne owners are accustomed to seeing.

Keys to Steelers Win

The Steelers are going to have a hard time screwing this one up. As long as they avoid producing some ridiculous turnover margin like the one they did in Week 1, they have this one in the bag.

Pittsburgh doesn't need to be cute. Shut down the Colts on offense and establish the run game and this one is over.

Keys to Browns Win

The Colts have the element of surprise on their side and that's about it. They're at home and anything can happen, but this is one of the biggest mismatches we've seen.

It's going to take a flash of greatness from Kerry Collins to even give the Colts a chance. Even when Manning was at full strength, this game wouldn't have been in the bag.

Prediction: Steelers 34, Colts 9

This has all the makings of a blowout. The Steelers aren't the type of team to take it easy on a weak victim. James Harrison and Co. aren't exactly the sympathetic types.

Look for Pittsburgh to win and win big. The Colts might be able to be forced to settle for field goals, but it's hard to see them ever finding the end zone.
