Zack Ryder: Your Future WWE United States Champion

Social media can make people famous.  It can elevate the popularity of a lesser known star and establish a following for them.

That's exactly what has happened to Zack Ryder's career.  Ryder was going nowhere in the WWE  so he decided to take matters into his own hands. 

Always full of charisma and energy, Ryder took to social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook to try to make his voice heard.  He started to post Youtube videos chronicling his struggle to make it big in the wrestling world.  Z! True Long Island Story has become a hit with fans of wrestling from all walks of life.  People that never thought anything about Ryder now want nothing more than to see him succeed.

The Problem is, he hasn't garnered the respect from company creative teams yet.  He's getting more air time as of late in random matches on Raw and now is Teddy Long's assistant on SmackDown, but clearly those are both just ways to give him some attention without giving him the push he is looking for.

There is good news for Ryder though. He has now been inserted into the United States Championship picture and will soon become the new champion.

Last Monday night on Raw, Ryder defeated the current U.S. champion Dolph Ziggler after he was recruited by Hugh Jackman, who was searching for the ultimate underdog to defeat Ziggler. 

Who is better to play the underdog role than the supreme underdog of the WWE Zack Ryder, right?

As is customary when a champion is defeated by a non-champion, Ryder will surely have his opportunity to take on Dolph with the title on the line after his unexpected victory.  Not only will Ryder get a title shot, he will defeat Ziggler and win his first (not self-created) championship in the WWE. 

Ryder has been on the scene more and more lately and now is as perfect time as any to win a championship.  With Ryder as the U.S. champion, Ziggler will be able to focus more attention on his situation with Jack Swagger and transition into the WWE title picture.

Zack Ryder won't win the United States championship until around Survivor Series, but on that day,  the Internet wrestling community will rejoice because their golden boy has finally found his way to the the top.
