UFC 135: Rampage Jackson Says Rashad Evans Is a Better Guy Than Jon Jones
In preparation for UFC 135, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and challenger Quinton Jackson have been outspoken on what they think of each other. Both fighters sat side-by-side at a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and there have also been spy accusations by Jackson leading up to the fight.
Jackson spoke to MMA Fanhouse about the fight and his opponent.
""I don't like being around him at all. You just feel the energy of people. You just feel the fakeness coming off him. He tries to say little sly things on the side here and there, and try to make me out to be the bad guy, like I'm the one picking on him or something. Same thing that Rashad basically did, but those guys, they train together, but honestly, Jon Jones is making me like Rashad more than him. Rashad is actually a better guy than Jon Jones," he said.
"It's not so much that he's cocky and stuff like that. It's more of how disrespectful he is. A lot of fighters are cocky. I would say 90 percent of fighters are cocky, but you know, it's just his demeanor and the way he disrespected me and the kid hasn't really done anything in this sport."
"
Jones won the title at UFC 128 when he defeated Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.
""Yeah, he beat Shogun, and as soon as he beat Shogun, it just all went to his head, and it's like, you beat a rusty Shogun that had a year off, coming off an injury. If I would've beat Shogun, I would have said like 'yeah, I beat Shogun, but cmon, it's not the same Shogun that normally fights."
