Week 3 Fantasy Football Projections: 3 Sleepers You Will Want to Start in Week 3

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

By now, the NFL has either broken your quarterback or shattered your featured running back. I am here with some sleepers that will get you over the hump until they heal.

The one frustrating thing about fantasy football is the incessant injuries. I have to read the injury reports with a bottle of Tums nearby so as to get through it all.

No player is free from getting banged up, that is why we have to dig deep for value a few times a season. These next players are necessary when you lose a fantasy stud to a concussion, knee injury or a sore tummy like the one Percy Harvin had this week.

It will be fine in the end. These players will have you forgetting all about that hit your star took in Week 2, rendering him useless for the next week or so.

1. Andy Dalton: If you find yourself stuck between a rock and Donovan McNabb, pick the rock. Then you can also pick up Andy Dalton and stick him in your lineup. Barring health, Dalton will be going against a very soft defense in the San Francisco 49ers.

Dalton just waxed a similar defense in the Broncos for 25 fantasy points. I would temper that expectation. He will still garner you anywhere from 15-20 points, with the likely hood of more if all his receivers are healthy.

2. Jonathan Stewart: The Panthers second running back is a versatile player out of the back field. Carolina used him more in the passing game, leading me to suspect they will continue the trend.

Stewart only had five yards on six carries, but netted a 100-yards receiving. If you need a back that is assured of being utilized more often, Stewart is your man.

3. AJ Green: It is hard to call Green a sleeper considering that he has improved with every game he has played this season. The Bengals have another star in the making in Green.

There is no reason Green should not be in your lineup. The kid is the real deal.
