Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings: Which RBs Will Top Week 3 Leaderboards?

Injuries, suspensions and more have sent fantasy owners scrambling for replacements at the running back position, but if you have these three guys, you need not worry during Week 3.

3. Matt Forte

Forte may be a running back, but he does a lot of his damage through the air, thus making the Green Bay Packers his perfect opponent.

The Packers are able to put a lot of pressure on opposing quarterbacks, often forcing them to dump it off. 

It's happened in the first two weeks as Darren Sproles and Jonathan Stewart have torched the Packers through the air, and it will happen again with Matt Forte.

The 25-year-old may again fail to surpass 60 yards, but don't be surprised if he gets 10 catches, 100 yards and a touchdown. Cutler will be targeting him a lot. 

2. Adrian Peterson

The Detroit Lions have been awfully stingy against running backs, allowing the second fewest fantasy points against opposing runners.

Still, though, they were beginning to get cut up by Jamaal Charles last week until he went and tore his ACL. Even with a meager backup effort by Thomas Jones, the Chiefs still averaged almost 4.5 yards per carry.

The Vikings pass game simply isn't working and they'll have to feed Peterson at least 25 times if they want to win this game. He's as safe as it gets.

1. Chris Johnson

Johnson practiced fully on Thursday and it appears his sore ribs won't slow him down.

CJ2K has the matchup in Week 3 to break out of his current little funk. Von Miller has made the Broncos run defense better, but they can still be beat big as evidenced by Darren McFadden in Week 1.

Cedric Benson struggled against them last week, but Johnson is much more McFadden-esque than Benson-esque.

The fourth-year back out of East Carolina should finally be back to speed after missing most of the preseason due to his lockout and he's about to show it in a big way.

If he doesn't have a huge game on Sunday, there may be something wrong with him.
