Kenny Britt Injury: Titans Will Fall Apart If Britt's Hamstring Doesn't Hold Up

If Kenny Britt's hamstring injury keeps him off the field this season, the Titans are going to completely fall apart. Chris Johnson is struggling as it is, and Matthew Hasselbeck picking apart a cheating defense and hitting Britt has been the only thing keeping the offense afloat thus far.

Britt's hamstring issues aren't just a problem heading into this game. As we've seen with Arian Foster, hamstring issues have a tendency to linger deep into the season.

It's the Titans passing game that will inevitably create opportunities for Johnson to start breaking loose. As of right now, he's looking at a stacked box every time he touches the ball. While the passing game can't change that entirely, they can't hope to move the ball if they can't even manage to exploit the opposition through the air.

This week, Johnson has a chance to really carve up a heinous run Broncos run defense that is giving up 131 yards a game so far this season. Not having Britt to account for would allow Denver to overcompensate for the run without the backlash from Britt that the Titans' first two opponents saw.

The Titans need Britt in action as soon as he is feeling 100 percent, but throwing him back in the action too soon could prove to be a costly mistake.

Teams have shown the ability to completely eliminate Johnson from the game already. Without their No. 1 target on the field, the Titans will be shut down on the ground and through the air.

The AFC South is still wide open. While it appears as though the ball is in the Texans' court, the division could look a lot different after the Texans face the New Orleans Saints this week.

Every team aside from the Colts is still involved in the division race, but the Titans don't have a shot if they don't get Johnson involved. The only way they can hope to get CJ2K back to his dominant form is to keep Britt happy and healthy on the field.
