Maryland Football Uniforms 2011: What the Terps Will Wear in Week 4

After taking the college football world by storm with their eye-melting state flag influenced Week 1 uniforms, Maryland failed to recapture the same type of magic with their all-black duds, as the Terps came up short in a battle with West Virginia last Saturday.

Randy Edsall’s team will now look to rebound this weekend when the Terps host Temple.

Last night, Edsall tweeted that Maryland's captains have decided to go with the gold jersey-black pants combination for this Saturday's game.

This is just one of many new designs that Under Armour created for the Terps for the 2011 season.

This one will feature the same solid black helmet with a state flag stripe running down the middle that the Terps donned last week against West Virginia.

The jerseys have a similar design to last week’s black ones, but instead of black with red shoulders, it will be gold with red shoulders.

The black pants with red and gold trim, along with the black cleats will be the same as the ones that were worn last week as a part of the all-black uniforms.

All in all, it’s basically the same uniform combination we saw last week, just with gold being substituted for black as the base color for the jerseys.

With this design, Under Armour has made sure that Maryland will stick out from the crowd, but I have a feeling that not every fan will fall in love with the bright gold jerseys.

These uniforms aren’t as painful on the eyes as the ones that caused such a stir, but they’re also not as sharp as the all-black ones we saw last week.
