Michael Vick Injury: Week 3 Clash vs. Giants Not Important Enough to Risk Vick
If the Philadelphia Eagles are going to achieve their Super Bowl dreams, Michael Vick is the quarterback that they need to have guiding the ship.
While Vick has flaws, his style of play makes him impossible to prepare for, especially now that he has weapons around him.
Now, it seems likely that Vick will play in Week 3 against the New York Giants. Obviously, with the emphasis on concussions and head injuries, if he plays, it means that Vick is healthy.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Players must pass a series of tests to play after suffering a concussion, so he won't be rushed back.
But I am wondering if this isn't a game that he should be used quite sparingly in anyway.
First of all, Mike Kafka did a fine job in Vick's stead on Sunday night. Yes, they squandered the lead and lost the game, but Kafka is about the last person that deserves any blame for that.
Second, the Eagles aren't playing the Falcons this week. The Giants have played tough football this year, but they are an injury-riddled team. With either Kafka or Vick taking the snaps, that's a game the Eagles should win.
Third, even if I am wrong on that and the Giants win, it doesn't hurt the Eagles that bad. No, a 1-2 start isn't exactly what they had in mind, but the worst case scenario doesn't bury them.
Worst case scenario is that the Eagles lose on Sunday and finish the weekend two games behind Washington. Of course, that's assuming that the Redskins beat the Cowboys.
That's not an ideal scenario for the "Dream Team," but it's also not the end of the world. With the short training camp and all of the new faces, a slow start wasn't exactly unpredictable. The Eagles will still get two games against the Redskins.
The Eagles can beat the Giants with Kafka. As tempting as playing him would be, the Eagles would be advised to use Vick sparingly.
From a fantasy perspective, I would look elsewhere. Again, I get that Vick is a potential fantasy giant, but the Eagles will be treating him with extra caution.
Look at all of the quarterbacks that have had at least one 300-yard passing game this season. Right now, it’s a position that doesn’t lack depth. Don’t be afraid to sit Vick in favor of one of them.
If you choose right, the worst case scenario won’t be that bad.
