Brazil vs. Argentina: Complete Preview, Start Time, Live Stream and Schedule

Matt FaulconerJun 7, 2018

Argentina and Brazil opened the 2011 Superclasico with a 0-0 draw after Leandro Damiao was denied twice in the match by the woodwork.

The two teams will now meet in the second leg, which will determine the winner of this year's Superclasico.

As with the first leg of this event, only home-based players are eligible to compete, so any player who is currently playing overseas is ineligible.

Biggest Storyline: Who Will Rise to the Occasion?

After the first match played out to a 0-0 draw, someone has to step up in this one for one of these teams.

Ronaldinho was all but irrelevant in the first match, as was Mauro Boselli despite having a scoring chance in the first half.

Damiao was the only player who was consistently creating chances, so look for him to do that once again.

Player to Watch for Brazil: Damiao

For the last match, Ronaldinho was in this spot, but he was irrelevant in the last match. He looked lost for much of the game, while Damaio was the only consistent player on either side of the ball.

He was unlucky not to score at least one goal in the match, and really should have capitalized on his chances with two goals.

He will hope things go a bit better for him this time around.

Player to Watch for Argentina: Mauro Boselli

The former Wigan forward had the best opportunity of the match for Argentina, but couldn't capitalize. He missed the net completely, and will need to be in better form for this match.

He didn't create much offensively, and will need to do better if Argentina wants to win.

Key Matchup: Brazil attack vs. Argentina defense

The combination of Neymar and Ronaldinho should be lethal, but they didn't produce much in the first game.

If the Brazilian attack can get things going, the Argentina defense is going to have problems slowing them down.

Final Analysis:

Brazil had the better opportunities in the first match, and with the home crowd at their back, they have the better chance of coming away with a victory.

Don't expect much scoring in this one either. though, but Brazil should have just enough to win this match.

Prediction:

Argentina 0
Brazil 1
