Saturday’s game opens up the Big 12 season for both teams in what may be the final year of the conference as we know it. Oklahoma leads the all-time series by a count of 66-24-5, but was upset by Missouri last year 36-27.

Laying three TDs against a team that was ranked earlier in the year is extremely tough to do. Here are a few trends to consider:

Underdog is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.

Sooners are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Sooners are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Tigers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog of 10.5 or greater.

Over/Under: 56.5

I expect the Sooners offense to keep the Tigers out of the end zone for the majority of the night, and judging by these trends, it’s hard to disagree:

Under is 8-1 in Sooners last nine games on grass.

Under is 6-1 in Sooners last seven games as a home favorite of 10.5 or greater.

Under is 4-1 in Tigers last five games as a road underdog.

Under is 5-1 in Sooners last six home games.

Under is 4-0 in Tigers last four games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game.

Key Injuries:

OU: OL Jarvis Jones (Knee) Out

MIZZ: OL Chris Freeman (Knee) Questionable

MIZZ: RB De’Vion Moore (Ankle) Questionable

MIZZ: DL Jaquies Smith (Elbow) Doubtful

MIZZ: LB Will Ebner (Ankle) Doubtful

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications:

The problem with being No. 1 is there is only one way to go in the polls. A win will give them more brownie points in the computers and a loss would likely knock them back to No. 5.

The Tigers would vault into the rankings with the signature victory of the year and would suddenly reappear in the picture for a BCS bowl game.

Keys to an Missouri Victory:

Keep the pedal to the metal.

The Tigers are best known for their high-powered offense and they need QB James Franklin to take care of the ball and not allow the crowd to get into the game early.

Mizzou must use their balance to keep the Sooners guessing. Missouri ranked 12th nationally in total offense (512.0 ypg) with nearly identical numbers on the ground (257.3 ypg) and through the air (254.7 ypg).

Keys to an Oklahoma Victory:

OU feeds off their crowd, as evident by their current 37 game home winning streak, the top in the NCAA.

QB Landry Jones needs to make sure he takes some early looks down field to test the shaky Tigers secondary. They can put this game away early if they have a couple of big plays and let the defense get them back the ball in a hurry.

Predictions:

The experience and confidence factors that OU brings to every game are too hard to ignore. It starts with their coach Bob Stoops and it has rubbed off on all of his players.

Expect Jones to find the soft spots in a weak Tiger defense. Don’t be surprised for the Sooners score to be in the 40’s.

The Tigers defense has no answers and this one end up being a blowout as Missouri losses at Oklahoma for the 18th straight time.

Final Score: Oklahoma 35, Missouri 21
