Fantasy Football Week 3: Should You Plan on Michael Vick or Mike Kafka Starting?
When Michael Vick left Sunday night's game in Atlanta with a concussion, more than a few fantasy owners were sent scrambling for options. Now, midway through the week there is still no definitive answer as to whether he will actually suit up for the Eagles' matchup with the New York Giants on Sunday.
Vick reportedly split snaps with backup Mike Kafka during the team's Wednesday morning walkthrough, but Kafka did see the majority of the action. Vince Young who was signed in the offseason to be the team's primary backup didn't have any first-team reps and is clearly out of the picture for Week 3 after missing the first two games with a hamstring injury.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Vick is currently slated as a game-time decision by Philadelphia's staff, and you can pretty much bet on that being the case all week. Banking on him to be a fantasy savior this week isn't smart, even though he has said he wants to play. Head coach Andy Reid and his staff are hopeful Vick can play but that doesn't mean he will.
Unless otherwise stated before the game on Sunday, fantasy owners should probably look for another option this week. If Vick plays, it will likely be a last minute decision and you shouldn't bank your fantasy team's Week 3 performance on a 50-50 shot.
Since the league instituted its current concussion procedures in 2009, every Eagles player who has suffered a concussion—except for receiver Jason Avant—has missed at least one game.
Vick needs outside permission to get back into an actual game, and he may not get it without sitting for a week. Monitor this one closely, if it's still 50-50 on Sunday morning, go with your backup.
