Valencia vs. Barcelona: Quick Turnaround Won't Slow Barca

Barcelona's high flying attack requires a lot of running and expenditure of energy. That maximum output attack was on full display their last time on the pitch this past Saturday in a 8-0 trouncing of Osasuna. It is reasonable to expect they would not be fully recovered for this Wednesday's match against Valencia.

It is not going to be a problem.

Helping to nullify any wear and tear that Barca faces is the fact that Valencia also played this past Saturday. They were locked in a tooth and nail battle against Sporting de Gijon. They won that match 1-0.

While Valencia's patient attack does not require the same amount of aerobic endurance, it is always tiring battling in a close match.

Barca had no such concerns in their match. They were in coast mode not long after that match kicked off.

They controlled possession and tempo of that match, and ultimately it proved to be little more than a glorified practice session for this great team.

More than anything, what nullifies any advantage Valencia hopes to hold by being fresher is the fact that Barca is simply far too talented and deep for Valencia.

Barca has the depth to make key subs to bring in fresh legs without missing a beat.

Valencia's only real hope in this match is that Barca sleep walks through this game, and Valencia capitalizes before the champs wake up.

Prior to their 8-0 trouncing, Barca stumbled through two uninspiring draws. They had back-to-back contests end 2-2. The first to Real Sociedad and the second to AC Milan.

Even this hope for Valencia is a long shot. Barca made a statement in that 8-0 victory. Their little speed bump of drowsiness is a thing of the past.

This team is back to the well-oiled machine that dominates inferior opponents like Valencia.

Barca will take this one 4-1.
