Duke Basketball: What If They Were in the Same Conference as UConn?
Duke has had some big games with UConn over the years. In 1999 Duke had a loaded team that got upset by UConn in the national finals.
In 2004, Duke met UConn in the Final Four only to lose in the final seconds by an Emeka Okafor layup, preventing an all ACC finals meet with Georgia Tech.
Now UConn is in talks to join the ACC.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Wouldn't it be great having two Hall of Fame coaches meet in a guaranteed slug fest annually? I for one can't help but salivate at the thought!
This potential rivalry cannot curtail UNC/Duke but it has promise.
Jim Calhoun is a Hall of Fame coach with three championships under his belt (two of them he had to go through Duke for).
Mike Krzyzewski is also a Hall of Fame coach with one more championship than Calhoun.
Both coaches spent over 30 years at their current schools.
So many similarities between these coaches whose teams are perennial contenders.
The conference realignment may be due to football, but the ACC gets much better with he addition of Syracuse and Pitt.
If UConn can somehow be the another addition, I for one will be happy for it.
Great teams are judged by the competition they beat, that's why Duke's back to back championship in the early '90s will always be revered. They beat some incredible teams, including Michigan and UNLV.
Any Duke team that can get through these great teams being added to the ACC will only be better for it.
