Week 3 Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em: 3 Players Set for Massive Output

Richard LangfordSep 21, 2011

Every week, certain players explode for huge days. The following three players are going to do so this week. If they are on your team, feel free to start talking trash now. If you are going against them, you may want to start coming up with excuses.

Arizona Cardinals' WR Larry Fitzgerald

Larry Fitzgerald is always ready to put up large fantasy numbers. This week he is going to go huge.

Fitzgerald has 10 catches for 195 yards and one touchdown. He may come close to doubling those numbers this week.

The Seahawks secondary struggles against good receivers. Last week they allowed the Steelers' Mike Wallace eight catches for 126 yards and one touchdown.

Fitzgerald will beat those numbers. This game figures to be closer, and that means more passing. Fitzgerald will get plenty of targets and put up plenty of numbers.

Pittsburgh Steelers' RB Rashard Mendenhall

Rashard Mendenhall has struggled this year. He has 111 yards, 3.6 yards per carry and just one touchdown.

He has been going against good run defenses. He won't be this week.

The Steelers are ready to take apart the Colts. They will likely get ahead by a big margin early and look to pound the run. The Colts are ranked 29th in rushing yards allowed per game. Mendenhall is going to break out in a big way in this game.

Houston Texans' WR Andre Johnson

The Texans are taking on the Saints. This should be a great game. It also should be a shootout.

That means lots of points and lots of yards. While the Texans will always attempt to have a balanced offense, this one is going to come down to an aerial assault. The Saints run defense has been excellent against the run, giving up just 81.4 yards per game.

They have not been as successful against the pass. They are ranked 18th in passing yards allowed. Anyone who watched them play the Packers in the opener knows that this defense is susceptible to a great passing attack. And with the Texans, that means big numbers for Andre Johnson.

Johnson is off to a fabulous start this year. He has 14 catches for 188 yards and two touchdowns. He is going to add to those numbers in a big way in this game.
